Updated Resume

Posted February 10, 2009 at 04:02pm in Site News

Not a big deal, but I just posted my resume. I had it down for quite some time. I am not actively looking for a job so please do not send me job offers for full time positions. I am however open to accepting offers for contract work.

Redirection

Posted January 19, 2009 at 12:01am in Site News

Sorry to those of you who came to the site from a search engine and landed on the page you were not expecting. I had set the rule for mod_rewrite as:

RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://peterjmanis.com$1 [R=301,L]

Apparently Wordpress couldn’t handle that correctly because I made a small change to my permalinks. I have since updated it to

RewriteRule ^(.*)/(.*)/(.*)/$ http://peterjmanis.com$1/$2$3/ [R=301,L]

Everything should now redirect properly.

The new domain

Posted January 6, 2009 at 11:01pm in Site News

Years ago I bought digital39.com when I couldn’t get digital9.com. I am not entirely sure what my motivation was for wanting a domain with digital in it, but I had some strong feelings about obtaining one. I later figured out that if you were to loop through the alphabet (A being 1, Z being 26, then A being 27) the 39th letter was M, so I thought it was cool, digitalM (for manis). I have grown somewhat tired of the domain because it has no real symbolism. The other part of it is that with the create of pyverted.com, my technology blog, digital39.com has become more of my personal life and I would much rather have my name attached to that than some random domain I picked when I was in my early 20’s. So without further adu I present peterjmanis.com. Digital39.com will remain online, but I will no longer update the site.  Welcome to the new domain and I hope to have some great posts in 2009

Book Meme

Posted November 14, 2008 at 12:11pm in Site News

If the LHS slice is in extended form, then the RHS must have just as many items as the number of items in the LHS slice.

Book meme:

- Grab the nearest book.
- Open it to page 56.
- Find the fifth sentence.
- Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
- Don’t dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST.

New Blog

Posted November 14, 2008 at 01:11am in Site News

I started running another blog that will cover just technology related stuff. The programming and sysadmin type stuff. This blog will remain but it will be more surrounding my personal life and such. I wanted the new blog to relate to python in some way so I sorta played off the word perverted and called it Pyverted. I hope you will read both blogs.
